The Pathfinders Sunday School class is for mid-career adults -- that is, we're in the middle of a variety of pursuits, from raising children to our jobs to our spiritual journeys.
Our kids are not newborns, but then, most of them are not beyond the youth-young adult stage either. In our jobs, we are not just starting out but not ready to retire either. A diversity of career paths are represented in our class.
Our weekly meetings on Sunday mornings begin at 9:45 a.m. most of the year, and 9:15 a.m. for June, July and August. We do not follow any set curriculum, but instead choose resources that we believe will be relevant for our members. These include everything from motion picture studies ("Cotton Patch Gospel," "The Prince of Egypt") to video series ("The Question of God") to family studies and Bible study using the Serendipity New Testament.
We also gather socially from time to time. Past events have included Movie Night and Sunday evening picnics. Our main yearly fund-raising project, the Apple Butter Boil, is also a social event. Details are posted elsewhere on this website.
We especially welcome visitors. We would be happy to have you sit in for a session or an entire series. You don't have to notify us in advance -- just show up. At the front of the church, ask anyone and you'll be directed to the current Pathfinder room on the second floor. Our "dress code" is casual. For more information, call Dan Rhodes at (540) 828-2001.
